Gary C. Block

Gary C. Block, 91, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by his love ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Florence and daughter Gari Lynn Block Maguire and “bonus” son Michael P. Maguire.

Gary was born in Lawrence, PA on August 11, 1934, to Herman and Grace Hohn Block. He started his career as a machinist and retired as Vice-President of Manufacturing at a ball valve company, where he held many patents on valves.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by brothers David and Dan.

He loved to travel, especially to the beach and Las Vegas to play black jack and the slots and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his wife, daughter and son-in-law, Gary is survived by Robert and Beverly Harbaugh, Charlotte Block and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Vladimir S. Corba Funeral Home, 300 East Main St, Carnegie on Monday from 1:00 to 4 pm and 6pm to 8pm. Additional viewing Tuesday morning starting at 10 am followed by interment at 11 am at Chartiers Cemetery Company, Carnegie.
